Presentations to the GHC membership will occur
every other month. All presentations to the Gay Healers
Circle must be proposed to the Steering Committee and approved by
the Steering Committee.
Presentation
Goals:
The Steering Committee’s goals for selecting
presenters are as follows:
- Bring the highest quality, most relevant and compelling
information possible to the membership.
- Allow GHC members to present their practices to the members, so
long as those presentations will be done in a highly professional,
engaging and interactive manner.
- Bring in speakers who may not be LGBT or members of the GHC in
order to present the most accomplished thinkers, teachers and
leaders in their field to the GHC membership
- Create presentations that are interactive and experiential,
rather than lectures
Procedure to
Propose Presentation Idea:
The Steering Committee welcomes any and all
presentation ideas for review. The following criteria and
procedures must be met for a proposal to be considered for
presentation.
- A member must attend at least one GHC meeting before submitting
a presentation proposal.
- All proposals must be submitted to the Steering Committee
Presentation Coordinator
- All presentations must follow established GHC guidelines
- Presenters may not directly market their services, events or
products during their presentations
- Non-members may be invited to present
to the GHC if they have a message or practice that the Steering
Committee feels would be interesting or relevant to the membership,
and that the presentation would be of extremely high
quality

Presentation Guidelines
(This information is provided at
every GHC meeting.)
Our aim through presenting the various
modalities practiced by our membership is to enlighten and empower
all our members and thereby strengthen our network of support and
healing. To this end please adhere to the following Presentation
Guidelines.
- All questions, proposals and suggestions pertaining to
Presentations are to be directed to the local GHC Presentation
Coordinator. This is a member of the Steering Committee who has
been selected for this role.
- Interested presenters must have attended at least one GHC
gathering prior to submitting and/or facilitating a Presentation
(exceptions made only through the approval of GHC Steering
Committee).
- Presentations involving more than one Presenter must select a
point person that the GHC Presentation Coordinator agrees is
appropriate for leading the presentation.
- Presentations are intended to be informative and experiential
and to involve attendees at the meeting, and should not take the
form of a lecture.
- We ask that NO specific counseling or feedback of a personal or
sensitive nature be offered during the public presentation WITHOUT
acknowledged permission of said attendee.
- These presentations are not meant to serve as mere promotional
opportunities for the Presenter’s services, events or
products. However, presenters are welcomed to provide – and
announce availability – of any promotional materials for their
services and events at the close of their presentation.
- Such marketing materials will be located in our designated
INFORMATION AREA only. They are NOT to be distributed before,
during or after the Presentation. Only materials that pertain
directly to the presentation may be distributed prior or during the
Presentation.
- Once the GHC Steering Committee has scheduled a presentation,
the Presenters Form along with an outline that details the nature,
structure and featured content of presentation MUST be submitted to
GHC Presentation Coordinator no later than THREE WEEKS prior
to scheduled presentation date. EXCEPTIONS must be agreed to by the
GHC Steering Committee.
- In the case of group presentations, we ask that all email
correspondence between fellow presenters that relate to the
coordination and presentation of the scheduled event be “cc’d” to
GHC Presentation Coordinator.
- A Presentation Feedback Form is provided to our attendees for
our internal purposes only; however results may be obtained by
Presenter(s) upon request.
- The GHC does not make any contact information on our members or
guest in attendance at any gathering available to any parties other
than the Steering Committee. Only the information members
have made public on the GHC website can be accessed by other GHC
members.
Please note that the GHC Steering
Committee reserves the right to cancel, postpone or remove a
participating presenter at its discretion at any time prior to or
during a Presentation.

Presentation Proposal Requirements
(This information is provided at
every GHC meeting.)
1) Please read the GHC
Presentation Guidelines prior to submitting a presentation
proposal.
2) Create a one page summary
of your presentation
- Briefly explanation of the nature of your healing modality
- How you will present the subject matter
- Describe the audience participation process if any
- Outline the timing of each process/phase of presentation
3) Submit the outline to the
GHC Steering Committee Presentation Coordinator via his/her email
address on the GHC website. (Click on the Presentation
Coordinator’s profile and send a "message" and include a copy of
the outline itself). This submission via the GHC
website will notify the Presentation Coordinator of your
submission.
4) The Presentation
Coordinator will contact you once you have submitted your one page
proposal to discuss your presentation and whether or not it has
been chosen for presentation to the GHC.
Please bear in mind that we have many potent and
wonderful practitioners participating in the GHC that have and are
submitting Presentation Outlines. Many factors go into the GHC
Steering Committee's consideration in Presentation scheduling as we
desire to have a balanced mixture of focuses and types of
modalities to present to the GHC members and friends, and on
occasion, will have guest speakers as well. Since we meet
every other month there are six presentation opportunities for our
regularly scheduled gatherings annually.
