Deeply Gay
By
Payam Ghassemlou MFT, Ph.D.
Many gay men who do not find meaning in a “work & play” lifestyle are seeking connection to something more meaningful. Those of us who have gone through the emotional labor of tearing down the closet door and working through painful issues that were…

ATTACHMENT STYLES IN ADULTS BY: Dr. Joseph Boodaghi, PhD
.
Generally, an attachment style is determined by the way in which you were cared for as a baby, or a child. If your parents were sensitive, responsive, and available, you are likely to develop a secure attachment style in adulthood where reciprocity, parity, and mutuality are present. If parents were…

I have an a beautiful acting student, who is working on "The Normal Heart" for class and is looking for someone to talk to that lived through the pre-AIDS New York Gay life in the 80's (preferably someone that was very 'active'). It's amazing for me to consider, but he wasn't even born yet!!!!

The Flame of Love
By
Payam Ghassemlou Ph.D.
On a daily basis, many of us spend a lot of time thinking about our life challenges. We think about all sorts of difficult situations, like financial problems, and make ourselves believe we can’t handle them. Catastrophic thinking about our lives bombards us with anxiety and contributes to our feeling of insecurity.
Many of…

Homophobia Enemy of Curiosity
By Payam Ghassemlou Ph.D.
The landscape of our life is as vast as the degree of our curiosity. This is an emotion that can be put in motion by a wondrous dance with creation. Curiosity motivates us to show interest in ourselves and the world around us. With curiosity, we can passionately explore the mystery of life. It also engages us with the content of our universe and helps us to come to life in…

I love that singing is such a simple and organic art form. It is the most natural form of communication.
Young children can sing before they talk and as you watch them sing they are absolutely present in the moment.
I use singing as a thoroughfare to the soul of the artist or client and in the process, many of the old wounds
are uncovered and heal themselves. Just having the voice resonating throughout the body seems to realign the chakras and center the…

The experience of being by yourself can feel like either painful loneliness or nourishing meaningful solitude. In loneliness, you can feel alone, without a deep connection to God, who is a particular god of your understanding, the Beloved or your higher Self. You can also feel painfully alone like a child without a deep attachment to a loving parent. You can imagine your loneliness as a small child who is crying within you and in need of holding. If you don’t have…

Hello Fellow Healers,
I Just finished an inspiring craniosacral class in Canoga Park/Woodland Hills. I had the honor of being in the class with a wonderful compassionate teacher Don Ash. It was life changing. It truly bought me to a whole new level as a facilitator. It's called CADD or Craniosacral Therapy Around Death and Dying: It was a four day workshop about life. The biological process of life includes the process of coming and going. This workshop explored…
